BYOB in Agra: how it works at Cheers & Beers, and what to know first
Almost everywhere else, BYOB means bring your own bottle. At Cheers & Beers, which opened in Shahganj in October 2026, it means buy your own: no outside bottles, a DJ and a dance floor, food from its own kitchen, and entry rules that are easy to plan around.

The BYOB to know in Agra is Cheers & Beers, a bar that opened in October 2026 on the first floor of Jaipur House, MG Road 2, in Shahganj. Its BYOB means buy your own bottle, not bring it: outside bottles are not allowed, so you buy yours inside, then settle in with food from the kitchen, a DJ and a dance floor. Couples, mixed groups and women get in free. All-male groups pay ₹500 a head at the door, and every rupee of it comes off the food bill.
How BYOB works at Cheers & Beers
- Buy your bottle inside. Outside bottles are not allowed; you buy yours at Cheers & Beers.
- Eat from its kitchen. The food comes from its own kitchen, run by an experienced chef.
- Music. A DJ and a dance floor, with the lights kept low around the room.
- Hours. 11:30 AM to midnight.
- Age. The legal drinking age in Uttar Pradesh is 21, so carry photo ID.
Elsewhere in India, BYOB usually means carrying your own bottle into a restaurant. Here the rule runs the other way, so leave the bottle at home and buy at the bar.
Entry rules and the cover charge
| Who | Entry |
|---|---|
| Couples | Free |
| Mixed groups of men and women | Free |
| Women, on their own or in a group | Free |
| Men only (stags) | ₹500 a person, taken off the food bill |
So five men pay ₹2,500 when they arrive, and ₹2,500 comes off their food bill. Nobody pays to walk in as a couple, or with friends who include women.
What an evening there is like
Cheers & Beers is built for a night out rather than a quick stop: dim lights, a relaxed room, a DJ, a dance floor, and food from its own kitchen, cooked by an experienced chef. It opens at 11:30 AM, so it works for a long lunch too, and it closes at midnight.

Before you go
- Age: 21 is the legal drinking age in Uttar Pradesh. Carry photo ID.
- Dry days: bars in Uttar Pradesh stay shut on dry days, including 26 January, 14 April, 15 August and 2 October and the days around an election, and the district can add others. If your night falls on a festival or a holiday, check first.
- Getting home: do not drive. Book a cab from the table rather than on the kerb, and send someone the trip details; 112 is India’s emergency number.
Getting there
Cheers & Beers is on the first floor of Jaipur House on MG Road 2, in Shahganj: the building with Domino’s at street level and Altitude’s rooftop at the top. Look for the neon sign on the first-floor glass. There is open parking at the foot of the building, and the Taj is about 25 minutes away by car.
