Top 10 bars in Agra, and what each one is good for
Agra’s bars are mostly in its big hotels and along Fatehabad Road. These are the ten we would send a friend to — for the view, the quiet, the music or the late finish — and what to know before the first round.

The best bars in Agra are in its big hotels and along Fatehabad Road, the hotel road that runs east from Taj Ganj. For a drink with the Taj Mahal in view, go to Infini on the roof of the Taj Hotel & Convention Centre; for a quiet, grown-up room, Maikhana at ITC Mughal; for a loud night with friends, Molecule Air Bar. The full ten are below, and after them the rules worth knowing: the drinking age here is 21, and the bars shut on dry days.
This is the journal of Altitude, the rooftop restaurant above MG Road 2. We do not serve alcohol, so you will not find us in the ranking; there is a short note about us at the end, for the friend who is not drinking. If what you want is dinner on a roof rather than a bar, that is a different list: the top 10 rooftop restaurants in Agra.
How we chose
Every place here serves alcohol, and we checked each one against its own website or its listing in the first week of October 2026, to confirm it is still open and serving. Then we ranked them by what each does that the others do not: a view, a quiet room, live music, a late close. The list mixes hotel lounge bars, rooftop bars and stand-alone places, and all ten are either in a hotel or on Fatehabad Road, which is where most of Agra’s bars are.
We have not printed prices. Drinks lists here change often and we could not confirm a current figure for every bar, so ask for the menu with prices before the first round, and ask whether tax is included. Hours change too, so check on the day before you go.
| Bar | Best for |
|---|---|
| Infini – The Sky Lounge, Taj Hotel & Convention Centre | A sundown drink with the Taj in view |
| Maikhana – The Lobby Bar, ITC Mughal | A quiet drink before a serious dinner |
| The Bar, Trident Agra | A calm nightcap, open till 1 AM |
| Molecule Air Bar | A loud night out with a group |
| The Salt Cafe Kitchen & Bar | Dinner and drinks in any weather |
| Qairo, Howard Plaza The Fern | A dressier rooftop evening |
| The Mughal Bar, Hotel Clarks Shiraz | A drink, then dinner with ghazals |
| Unplugged Courtyard | Live bands and craft cocktails |
| Two Saints – Bar and Kitchen | A late rooftop at the weekend |
| Tea’se Me – Rooftop Cafe & Bar | An easy first evening in Agra |
1. Infini – The Sky Lounge — the Taj at sundown, with a cocktail
Infini is the rooftop poolside bar of the Taj Hotel & Convention Centre on Taj East Gate Road, about a ten-minute walk from the Taj Mahal’s East Gate. If what you want is a drink outdoors with the monument in front of you, this is the one to book. The list leans on the bartenders’ own cocktails, and there are hand-tossed pizzas and a multi-cuisine menu to eat from.
It is open from noon to 11 PM, and the dress code is smart casual. When the roof closes, the hotel’s Liquid Lounge on the lobby level carries on until midnight, with a long wine list, single malts and a DJ.
Tip: come for the last hour of daylight. The Taj is not lit up at night, so after dark the view is an outline against the sky — more on that in our guide to boutique hotels and rooftop bars in Agra.
2. Maikhana – The Lobby Bar, ITC Mughal — the grown-up hotel bar
Maikhana is the lounge bar off the lobby of ITC Mughal in Taj Ganj, and it is built for the opposite of a big night: a relaxed room, a well-stocked bar, and finger food rather than a dinner menu. It is the place for a conversation, a business drink, or the hour before dinner.
It is open from 11 AM to 11:30 PM. The natural pairing is Peshawri, the hotel’s North West Frontier restaurant, which serves dinner from 7 PM to 11:30 PM: a drink at Maikhana first, then on to the tandoor.
Tip: you do not need to be staying at the hotel. Both take table requests on ITC’s website, and Peshawri is worth booking ahead rather than hoping for a walk-in table.
3. The Bar, Trident Agra — calm, and open till 1 AM
Trident Agra is on Fatehabad Road, about 1.5 km from the Taj Mahal, and its bar is simply called The Bar. The room is contemporary and cheerful, dotted with traditional artefacts, and the list runs to spirits, wines and cocktails with appetisers alongside. In summer the hotel has run a poolside cocktail menu as well.
Its hours are why it sits this high: 11 AM to 1 AM, every day. It suits a late, quiet drink after dinner somewhere else, or a first one if you are staying along this stretch of Fatehabad Road.
Tip: online bookings stop at eight people. For a bigger group, ring the hotel.
4. Molecule Air Bar — loud, open-air and experimental
Molecule is an open-air bar and restaurant on Fatehabad Road in Taj Nagri Phase 2, near the Courtyard by Marriott. The concept and the interiors borrow from the Second World War era, and the kitchen and bar lean on molecular gastronomy, so expect experimental drinks and dishes that arrive with some theatre.
There is music and a DJ, and the crowd has come for a night out. It is loud, which is rather the point, and it is open from noon to 1 AM. Go with a group, and order from the experimental end of the menu rather than the dishes you could have anywhere.
Tip: book ahead for a weekend, and if anyone in your party wants to talk, ask for a table away from the speakers.
5. The Salt Cafe Kitchen & Bar — a rooftop for any weather
The Salt Cafe Kitchen & Bar takes up the third and fourth floors of a building on Fatehabad Road, and its trick is a roof that closes. The retractable cover means the rooftop works in June and in the monsoon, not only on the good evenings of November, and the window seats look out to the Taj in the distance.
The bar does cocktails and mocktails, the kitchen runs across Indian, Italian, Continental and Chinese, and there is often live music in the evening. It looks after tour groups and families as well as drinkers, which makes it a good choice when not everyone at the table is ordering a cocktail. It is open from noon to 1 AM.
Tip: ask for a window table facing the Taj when you book, and arrive before dark for the view.
6. Qairo, Howard Plaza The Fern — a dressier rooftop with a Taj deck
Qairo is the rooftop social bar on the fourth floor of Howard Plaza The Fern on Fatehabad Road, and it describes itself as high-end. There is an indoor hall, a private dining room, cabanas, outdoor seating, and an upper deck that looks across to the Taj Mahal.
The food is international, Mediterranean and Asian, the bar does cocktails, wine and beer, and there is live music. It is open from noon to 1 AM. This is the one on the list for an evening that wants an occasion: a birthday, a last night in Agra, a dinner you dress for.
Tip: the view is from the upper deck, so ask for it by name when you book, and arrive before sunset if the Taj is the point.
7. The Mughal Bar, Hotel Clarks Shiraz — the old-school choice
Hotel Clarks Shiraz is at 54 Taj Road, away from the Fatehabad Road strip, and its Mughal Bar has a vantage point over the Taj Mahal and a list of Indian and international drinks. Go before dark if you want to see the monument from your table.
The pleasure here is the combination. The hotel’s flagship restaurant, The Mughal Room, has live ghazal performances every evening and serves from noon to 11 PM, so a drink at the bar and dinner with music make a complete, unhurried evening without changing buildings.
Tip: we could not find the bar’s hours published anywhere, so ring the hotel before you set out, and ask for a seat with the view.
8. Unplugged Courtyard — live bands and craft cocktails
Unplugged Courtyard is on the second floor of Arvind Innov8, opposite Trident Agra on Fatehabad Road. It describes itself as a chilled-out place by day that turns into a night spot, and what stays constant is a menu from around the world, craft cocktails and live bands.
If live music is the reason you are going out, this is the one to try first. It opens at 1 PM and closes at 11:30 PM, earlier than several bars on this list, so plan an evening that starts at eight rather than ten.
Tip: we could not find a published band schedule, so call ahead and ask which nights have one.
9. Two Saints – Bar and Kitchen — two floors and a roof, late at weekends
Two Saints is a two-storey bar and kitchen on Fatehabad Road, next to Hotel Amar, with an open-air rooftop on top. It does signature cocktails and cold beer, a menu that runs from Indian to Italian, Chinese, pizza and grills, and music in the evenings.
It is open from noon to 1 AM from Sunday to Thursday, and until 1:30 AM on Friday and Saturday, which makes it one of the later rooftops on the road. It suits a group of friends who want an outdoor table and a relaxed night rather than a club.
Tip: the roof is open to the sky, so in the hot months go after dark, and in the monsoon check the weather before you commit to it.
10. Tea’se Me – Rooftop Cafe & Bar — the easy-going traveller’s roof
Tea’se Me is a rooftop café and bar on top of Hotel M House on Fatehabad Road, near the Purani Mandi crossing. It is relaxed rather than smart: colourful décor, Indian and international food, wine and beer, and a covered, air-conditioned section for the hot months.
It is popular with overseas travellers, it is open from 11 AM to 11:45 PM, and it is the easiest entry on this list to walk into without a plan — a good first stop on a first evening in Agra, before you know which kind of night you want.
Tip: in May and June, ask for the covered section; on a clear winter evening, sit outside.
Five more worth knowing
These did not make our ten, but one of them may be closer to where you are staying.
- Onyx Bar, Courtyard by Marriott Agra (Taj Nagri Phase 2, Fatehabad Road): handcrafted cocktails, wine and beer, 1 PM to 11:30 PM.
- Plush Bar, DoubleTree by Hilton Agra (Taj Nagri Phase 2): a lounge bar with two large wine walls.
- Wonder Terrace Bar and Henry’s, Radisson Hotel Agra (Fatehabad Road): a rooftop bar that looks towards the Taj, 11 AM to 10:30 PM, and a pub-style lounge, 11 AM to 11 PM.
- JB’s Lounge and Bar, Hotel Amar (Fatehabad Road): cocktails and a kitchen, open from 12:30 PM to 2 AM.
- Cosmos Cafe & Bar, Fairfield by Marriott Agra (Ashok Cosmos Mall, Sanjay Place): the hotel’s café and bar, 6:30 AM to 10 PM, if you are staying in the city centre rather than out on Fatehabad Road.

Before you go: age, ID, dry days and the ride back
The legal drinking age in Uttar Pradesh is 21. Carry photo ID — your passport, if you are visiting from abroad — because you may be asked for it.
Dry days close the bars. Across most of India that means 26 January, 15 August and 2 October, and elections bring their own: the 48 hours before polling closes, and counting day. The state and the district can add others, so if your evening falls on a festival or a public holiday, check before you go.

Decide how you are getting back before the first round. Do not drive: India’s legal limit is 30 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, and a first offence can mean a fine of up to ₹10,000, up to six months in prison, or both. Ask the bar or your hotel to call a taxi, or book a cab from the table rather than on the kerb, and send someone the trip details. 112 is India’s single emergency number.
Pace it. Eat a proper meal, drink water between rounds, and remember that for much of the year Agra is still warm at ten at night. If the bar kitchen has closed and you are hungry, our guide to late-night dining in Agra covers what is still serving.
For the friend who is not drinking

Altitude is ours — the rooftop restaurant on the top floor above MG Road 2 in Shahganj — and it serves no alcohol, which is why it is here rather than in the ranking; the ten above are simply the places we would send a friend who wants a drink. For the one who does not, or for dinner before the bars, the roof is open every day from 1 PM with a long cold list: a Virgin Mojito is ₹160, a Kala Khatta Virgin ₹180, every mocktail is 30% off from 5 to 7 PM, and the kitchen takes its last order at 11 PM. Book a table — it is free, confirmed instantly, and cancels free up to two hours before.
